Another week goes by and another set of films for you to set your eyes upon, every week I shall be bringing you the latest films to hit the cinema and one film that’s been out that you should have seen. This weeks films are:
New Year’s Eve (8th December 2011) Another one of those Rom-Com film’s that seem to be increasingly popular, however by the looks of it, one more for you to take your partner to see. With a hit cast including Sarah Jessica Parker, Zac Efron (always a winner for the ladies), Robert De Niro and Ashton Kutcher. A love story around NYE, who could wish for more…
Meet Me in St Louis (16th December 2011) Re-release of the 1944 classic, still receiving 5 star reviews, well worth seeing in the cinema all over again!
Wreckers (16th December 2011) the beguiling debut film from D R Hood featuring stand out performances from some of Britain’s best talent such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy and Shaun Evans. Wreckers is an evocative, beautifully shot drama that examines the fragile relationship between truth, intimacy and betrayal. With great reviews, it’s one to watch!
Now the film that I am recommending that you should have watched is the superb 50/50 directed by Jonathan Levine. Highly commended across the board, released on November 25th 2011. 50/50 is the story of 27 year old Adam, writer of radio programmes. He is diagnosed with a rare form of spinal cancer, but with the help of his best friend, his mother and a young therapist, Adam learns what and who the most important things in his life are. Set out as a Comedy, Drama and what some people would just describe as Bromance. Staring a fantastic list of stars from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick. It’s a perfect, fantastically shot and directed film that is well worth a watch!
